Gwangjang payments and Jongmyo parking: does a market receipt give a discount?
KTO lists card payments at Gwangjang, but check with your stall before ordering. Jongmyo parking costs ₩400 per five minutes; the market-receipt discount does not apply there.
- Standard undiscounted car: ₩4,800 for one hour, ₩9,600 for two
- Jongmyo is grade 1: no 50% market-receipt discount
- Retail, vintage clothing and food have different hours
Stall payments
Gwangjang is a market of individual businesses at 88 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. KTO lists cards as accepted.
Ask your chosen stall before sitting down or ordering, since the market does not have one shared checkout. That listing does not guarantee approval of every foreign-issued card or mobile wallet.

Keep some cash as a backup for market purchases. Read whether the displayed price means one piece, one plate or a serving, then agree on quantities and the total before ordering for a group. Ordinary card acceptance also says nothing about a particular market voucher or Korean QR-payment service.

Jongmyo parking costs
Checked on 17 October 2026, Jongmyo’s standard rate is ₩400 per five minutes. Without discounts, an ordinary car costs ₩2,400 for 30 minutes, ₩4,800 for one hour and ₩9,600 for two hours. The first 24 hours are capped at ₩28,800, equivalent to six hours. This is an automatic daily cap, not a separate day ticket or 24 hours multiplied by the short-stay rate.
Jongmyo is a grade-1 lot. The operator’s 50% reduction for the first two hours with a traditional-market receipt applies to grades 2 and 3; grade 1 is excluded. Do not halve Jongmyo’s bill because you bought food at Gwangjang. Other qualifying reductions require their own evidence, and discount percentages are not added together.
Parking is a separate payment. The operator’s automated-payment guidance lists credit cards, T-money and ZeroPay. Do not plan to exit with cash alone. If payment fails, use the machine’s call button to reach staff. Its FAQ mentions phone-payment assistance at some lots, which does not establish a universal cash fallback or foreign-wallet acceptance.
Market and parking locations
KTO names Jongmyo as nearby parking. The operator gives its address as 2 Hunnjeong-dong, with 24-hour year-round operation and a 2.0 m entry-height limit. Include a roof box when checking vehicle height; this is not a complete vehicle-dimension acceptance promise. Call +82-2-2290-6166 for the lot or +82-2-2290-6449 for payment support. The map does not invent an entrance or live availability.

Hours and food
Seoul’s visitor directions use Jongno 5-ga station exit 8 on Line 1. For a food visit with light bags, taking the subway avoids parking payment and returning to a car. A passenger drop-off still needs a legal stopping place; the map is not permission to stop on a road. A 24-hour parking lot does not mean the market stays fully open overnight.
General retail is listed at 09:00–18:00, vintage clothing at 10:00–19:00 and the food alley at 09:00–23:00. General retail closes Sundays; the food alley is listed year-round, but individual kitchens can finish earlier. Bindaetteok is a mung-bean pancake; small gimbap wraps rice and fillings in seaweed. Confirm portions and the bill for shared or takeaway food. Jongmyo sightseeing and another market require separate opening-hour checks.
