Tongyeong cable car and luge: family costs by height and ride package
For two adults and a five-year-old child 100 cm tall, a cable-car return plus a three-ride luge combo totals KRW 130,000 before discounts. Choose the cable car for views and luge for driving a cart. Check luge tandem rules separately from chairlift height limits.
- Cable-car return: adult KRW 17,000, child 13,000. Its child category is age four through elementary school.
- The next cable-car maintenance closure is October 28; weather-related Luge stops are separate.
Costs for a family of three
Both attractions are in Donam-dong, Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do. Tongyeong Cable Car is a gondola for views from Mireuksan; luge uses an open chairlift called Skyride, then a wheeled cart that you steer downhill. Skyride in a luge combo is not Tongyeong Cable Car. Combining the attractions requires separate tickets and time to move between them.
The comparison assumes two adults and one child aged five, 100 cm tall, with a guardian meeting the tandem requirements. Cable-car returns cost 17,000×2+13,000=47,000. Three-ride luge combos cost 34,000 per adult plus a 15,000 child tandem ticket: 83,000, or 130,000 for both attractions. Four-ride adult combos cost 37,000 with one digital photo; five-ride combos cost 41,000 with two photos. Each lists a 15,000 tandem ticket, which must match the guardian’s ride count. Meals, transport and discounts are excluded.
17,000 × 2 + 13,000
47,000 + 34,000 × 2 + 15,000
47,000 + 37,000 × 2 + 15,000
47,000 + 41,000 × 2 + 15,000
The cable-car operator lists a 2,000 discount on an individual return when presenting a used luge ticket, and a 10% discount in the opposite direction on two-to-five-ride luge/Skyride combos. Tickets must be within two days of use; receipts alone and stacked discounts do not qualify. This is reciprocal admission discounting, not one combined ticket. Confirm eligibility of current photo combos and child tandem tickets before paying. The table is dated January 2025, and Skyline warns that on-site offers may not apply online; do not subtract both a partner offer and an online offer from the family total.
Child riding requirements
Children under 85 cm cannot ride luge. At 85–110 cm they must ride with a guardian aged at least 19. Solo luge needs both height of at least 110 cm and age of at least six, subject to staff judgement; this also applies within the 110–120 cm band. At 120 cm or taller, the regular adult-rate ticket is required. A tandem ticket is not a ride allowance to divide among family members. Skyride has separate limits: minimum 85 cm accompanied, 135 cm alone, and 150 cm for the person accompanying a child.
Wear a helmet and follow the on-site control briefing. The operator restricts riding during pregnancy, intoxication and medical conditions requiring caution, including heart disease, high blood pressure or disc problems. Skyride keeps moving during boarding and exit; ask staff for help if needed. Luge tickets are for one person and remaining rides must be used that same day. The 90-day validity before activating an online ticket does not permit rides spread over several days.
October hours and closures
The cable-car table below follows its revised October notice posted September 28, 2026. Upper-station closing is separate from ticket-sales closing. The remaining October maintenance closure is the 28th; the 14th has passed; crowds can end ticket sales early, and weather can suspend operation. For October 12–18, the Luge weekly schedule lists 10:00–18:00 with last sales at 17:45. Buying at the last minute does not guarantee completing three to five rides. Thunder/lightning suspend all rides; strong winds or heavy rain can also stop operation.
| Date | Start | Last ticket sales | Upper station closes |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 12–31 weekdays | 10:00 | 16:30 | 17:20 |
| October 12–31 Saturdays | 09:30 | 17:00 | 17:50 |
| October 12–31 Sundays | 09:30 | 16:30 | 17:20 |

Actual locations of both facilities
Map 1 marks the lower cable-car station area, 2 the luge area, and 3 the upper cable-car station. The blue dashed line is the actual OSM cable alignment, not a walking path. Grey lines are registered roads and footpaths; markers are references, not entrances, crossings or a recommended walking course. Cable-car address: 205 Balgae-ro; luge: 178 Balgae-ro. Follow on-site crossings between the facilities. The operator’s estimated 10–15 minutes to Mireuksan summit is an additional walk from the upper station; wheelchair facilities at its observation deck do not establish an accessible summit path.

Transport and food
The cable-car access guide lists bus 141 from Tongyeong Intercity Terminal to the cable-car stop. It does not establish a frequency, fare or return timetable: check the chosen service when leaving. For a city meal, Tongyeong Port/Central Market requires a separate transfer. Chungmu gimbap is small rice-only seaweed rolls with spicy radish kimchi and squid salad; kkulppang is fried bread filled with sweet red-bean paste and coated with honey.
