Incheon to Deokjeokdo: book the return ferry before Seopori Beach
The fast ferry from Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal to Deokjeokdo Jinri takes about 70 minutes. Reserve both sailings, confirm the Seopori return bus on arrival, and carry your passport plus room for a weather-delayed night.
- Choose Jinri and the coastal terminal
- Collect tickets 30 minutes before; reach the gate 10 minutes before
- October weekday example: 08:00 out, 16:00 back
- Confirm the island return transfer on arrival
Return booking and one-way fares
Choose Korea Express Ferry’s fast boat from Incheon to Deokjeokdo Jinri. This guide uses the foot-passenger Ongjin Family, without a vehicle.
Select Incheon, Deokjeokdo_Jinri, both dates and both individual sailings. For ordinary weekdays on 12–31 October 2026, the table lists Incheon departures 08:00 and 14:30 and island departures 09:30 and 16:00. Weekends list 08:00/15:00 out and 09:30/16:30 back. The extra holiday sailings on 9–11 October were for past dates. Do not apply them to the current visit; select both actual travel dates in the monthly table.
₩24,800; check checkout breakdown
₩27,100; listed 10% surcharge
The current fare page says funding for the non-Incheon visitor discount is exhausted. The ₩1,500 resident fare is not a universal tourist ticket. For October and November 2026 payments, Ongjin Family’s listed fuel surcharge is ₩4,200 one way, based on payment date rather than sailing date. The FAQ says the ₩1,500 terminal fee applies when leaving Incheon, not returning from Deokjeokdo. Check the final round-trip breakdown; do not add charges again if already included in a displayed fare.
Coastal terminal to Seopori
April 2026 operator instructions allow guest booking with a foreign telephone number and counter collection when you have no Korean number. Match your name and birth date to your passport and retain the booking details and lookup password. Online payment is by card, without a guarantee that every foreign card works. If payment fails, ask 1577-2891 about the procedure and seats before travelling. Telephone booking itself is unavailable. Sold-out online seats are not a reason to count on a counter ticket or waitlist.
Planning example: weekdays, 12–31 October
- 01
07:00 at the coastal terminal
Arrange early transport; do not assume the first bus fits
- 02
07:30 ticket collection; 07:50 gate
Operator deadlines: 30 / 10 minutes before departure
- 03
08:00 sailing → about 09:10 Jinri
Scheduled duration; delays are possible
- 04
Seopori beach, pine walk and lunch
Keep the walk within the confirmed return transfer
- 05
Confirm 14:00-area bus → aim for pier by 15:00
Planning buffer for 16:00; verify stop and actual bus
An editorial plan, not a reservation or operating guarantee. The 9–11 October holiday and weekend tables differ.
Go to Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal, 70 Yeonanbudu-ro, rather than the international terminal. From Dongincheon Station, the port estimates about 20 minutes by taxi or 30–40 minutes on bus 12 or 24. For an 08:00 boat, arrange an early taxi or stay nearby rather than assume the first bus works. Bring an original valid passport or accepted photo ID. Collect tickets at least 30 minutes before and reach the gate at least 10 minutes before; no ID means no boarding. Arriving an hour early is a planning buffer.

At Jinri, find the public bus towards Seopori before shopping. The forest authority’s 1 May 2026 notice says it waits outside the passenger waiting room and may leave while you visit a shop. Its reference attachment lists 09:15 from Jin3-ri pier, and return-direction departures at 14:00 from Seopo2-ri village hall or 14:05 from Seopo1-ri community centre. Ferry arrivals and traffic can alter these times. Ask the driver where to board and which return run operates today; Jin3-ri means Jinri Douw pier. A transit-card option does not guarantee foreign bank-card acceptance. Bus enquiries: township office, 032-899-3730.

Pair Seopori Beach with its adjacent pine-wood wellness walk. In October, plan a shore and forest stroll rather than assume bathing facilities or lifeguards are operating; follow local restrictions. Nearby Songrim Garden, 626-3 Deokjeongnam-ro, appears in a 2021 tourism listing for homemade tofu dishes. Confirm opening and menu at 032-832-3649. Bring water and a snack so a delayed meal does not cost you the return bus.
Weather cancellation and the return
For a booked 16:00 sailing, aim to be back at the pier around 15:00. The earlier 14:00-area bus gives more room than a late run, but confirm it on arrival. A car ferry or boat to another island is not an automatic substitute. Adding Gureopdo or Soya requires separate transport planning; keep a first day trip focused on Seopori.
Check the operator’s website or 1577-2891 around 06:00–06:30 on departure day and keep checking notices before boarding. An early normal-status display is not a final guarantee. If overseas SMS delivery is uncertain, use the website directly. For a weather-cancelled outward sailing from Incheon, the FAQ says online bookings are automatically cancelled with a full refund; already-issued tickets should be taken to the counter.
For a cancelled island-to-Incheon sailing, the FAQ says tickets roll forward to the next day. This does not guarantee tomorrow’s operation or accommodation. Carry medication, a charger and funds for an extra night; avoid an essential flight or train that evening. Voluntary cancellation has separate fees under the booking channel’s terms. Choose this day trip when both ferry seats and the island return transfer fit your plan.
