East Jeju stays: Playce Camp in Seongsan or Hadorak in Gujwa?

For one or two people using a guest airport shuttle, compare Playce Camp in Seongsan. For three or more sharing a unit, or simple self-catering, compare Hadorak’s Lower and Upper units in Gujwa. Playce Standard is 9.7 m² for up to two; Hadorak Lower is 66 m² for up to three.

  • Playce Standard and Deluxe: one bed, maximum two guests
  • Hadorak Lower: one level, maximum three / Upper: duplex, maximum six
  • Both: check-in 15:00 · checkout 11:00
  • Playce’s free airport shuttle is for guests, with first-come boarding

Playce Camp is in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo City; Hadorak is in Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City. Both are on eastern Jeju, but they put you beside different coastlines and offer different ways to stay.

This compares named room types at two properties, rather than ranking every stay in either district.

Hadorak Side A/BAbout 50 m² · duplexOne queen2 · no extra guests

Playce Standard has one 1350 mm-wide double bed in 9.7 m², with one bedroom and bathroom. Its base occupancy is one and maximum two. Deluxe doubles the area to 19.4 m² and adds a workspace and one 1700 mm-wide king bed. Its maximum remains two. Neither of these room types gives two travellers separate beds.

Hadorak Lower (아랫집) is a single-level 66 m² unit with two bedrooms, one queen and one single bed, and one bathroom. Current room and booking pages cap it at three guests. A party of four should compare a suitable room such as Upper, which allows up to six, rather than book Lower. A single-level description does not establish wheelchair access through every doorway.

Upper (윗집) is a 100 m² duplex with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a maximum of six guests. Side A/B (옆집) are approximately 50 m² duplex units with one queen bed and a strict maximum of two, with no extra guests. If you want to avoid internal stairs, start with Lower. More floor area does not itself mean more permitted guests or separate beds.

Named room types at these two properties. Shuttle times are Korean time; boarding is first come.

Playce’s free guest airport shuttle leaves Jeju Airport at 12:00 and 16:10, with scheduled Playce arrivals at 13:10 and 17:20. In the other direction it leaves Playce at 10:30 and 14:40, with scheduled airport arrivals at 11:40 and 15:50. All times are Korean time. Boarding is first come, and seats or punctual arrival are not guaranteed; allow for baggage collection and reaching the bus stop.

At the airport, look for a Phoenix Island bus in Zone B near stops 1 and 2. If crowded, it may use another stop within Zone B. At Playce, board in front of the square. The property lists public bus 111 to Goseong-ri Rotary (고성리회전교차로) and bus 101 to Goseong-ri Hanguk Mullyu (고성리한국물류). A late flight cannot be planned around these two daytime shuttle departures.

Hadorak’s address is 1726 Haemajihaean-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City (제주특별자치도 제주시 구좌읍 해맞이해안로 1726). Public trunk route 201 connects Jeju Terminal, Jocheon, Sehwa, Seongsan, Namwon and Seogwipo Terminal; it is not an airport shuttle to the property door. Use it for the Sehwa–Seongsan corridor and plan the final leg separately around the address. Drivers can obtain Hadorak arrival and parking instructions on 010-5147-3752. Playce’s official layout marks parking and an EV charging station; those symbols do not establish parking fees or suitability for every vehicle.

The Seongsan map locates Playce Camp at 20 Dongnyuam-ro (동류암로 20) and Gwangchigi Beach (광치기해변), a coastal viewpoint towards Seongsan Ilchulbong. A view from the beach is different from a hotel room view. Playce lists square, city or forest views for Standard and square or forest views for Deluxe, so do not book these types on the assumption of an ocean or crater view.

The Hado-ri map locates Hadorak on Haemajihaean-ro (해맞이해안로) and Byeolbangjin (별방진), a historic stone coastal fort at 3354 Hado-ri (하도리 3354). Pairing them with a Hado–Sehwa coast stay is an editorial suggestion based on location. The numbered markers identify property or attraction reference points, not entrances or a measured walking route.

Meals and cooking

Wero (위로), a Korean restaurant on floor 1 of Playce’s PASSION building, lists breakfast 08:00–11:00, last order 10:30, and lunch 12:00–14:00, last order 13:30. ttt COFFEE on floor 1 of LOVE lists 08:00–17:00, last order 16:30, in the schedule effective from September 2026. Check the selected room package for whether meals are included.

Hadorak Upper and Lower allow simple cooking, but prohibit barbecue, fish and deep-frying in the kitchen. Side units prohibit cooking; a microwave, electric kettle and coffee facilities remain usable. If preparing dinner from groceries matters, choose Upper or Lower within Hadorak. These kitchen rules do not establish access to outdoor barbecue facilities or extra equipment.

Booking and cancellation

Both properties list check-in at 15:00 and checkout at 11:00. If visiting the coast before check-in, agree luggage storage hours and the contact procedure for a late arrival. Hadorak says a booking is confirmed only after payment is complete. A homepage starting price or room description does not establish a rate or available room for your dates.

The general Playce room-page cancellation table allows free cancellation until two days before an off-season stay, or seven days before a peak-season stay. It lists a 50% penalty the day before and 100% on the day or for a no-show. Hadorak lists a full refund at least ten days before check-in and no refund within three days, with a separate full-refund exception for cancellation on the day the booking was made.

Hadorak’s bad-weather exception requires proof of a cancelled flight or boat service and allows a refund for the affected cancellation day. It is not an automatic refund for the entire trip. Conditions can vary by booking channel and product; retain the final total and cancellation terms for your chosen dates, guests and unit.
